Lagos: Binding Document Will Be Sign Between Nigeria And ICAO

Cheap flights To Lagos News: Dr. Harold Demuren who is the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority ( NCAA ), said that there is a binding document that Nigeria and International Civil Aviation Organization ( ICAO ) has to sign because it concerns aviation safety as well as security. While speaking at the agency’s corporate headquarters said that the Tactical Action Group of ICAO from Dakar, Senegal visited the Lagos and Kano airports recently to inspect the facilities, seen tremendous advancements in Nigeria’s airports. Still, there are some loop holes which NCAA need to close and now, there is a binding document that has to be signed between Nigeria and ICAO. Nigeria is a Category One country and must behave as one. The satellite based navigation is critical for system and Nigeria must make sure these upgrades are done. Demuren added that Nigeria will transform from terrestrial navigation to satellite based navigation very soon. The NCAA was happy with the remarks of the ICAO team. Team had seen both, the equipment on the ground as well as in the air for safe functioning of the airlines and passengers. The NCAA boss said that remarks made by the team will be given serious attention by the concerned agencies as well as the discrepancies observed by the visiting team in our system will be corrected soon.
